7N8D Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati and transfer to Kaziranga (220kms/4.5 hrs)

Arrival at the Guwahati Airport (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport) around noon and journey to Kaziranaga in an AC Vehicle (About 220 kms & 4 hours 30 minutes)
Arrival at the Diphlu River Lodge (DRL) by evening and check-in at the resort. Spend the evening at leisure at the Resort’s Hilltop (Open area with Bamboo grove) or the Sit out deck by the pond followed by dinner at Machan, DRL’s raised jungle platform which serves as an air conditioned dining hall.
Night stay at one of DRL’s beautiful & sustainable air conditioned cottages in anticipation of the exciting wildlife safaris in the coming days.

Day 2: Kaziranag Safari, in search of the endangered Rhinoceros and elusive Tiger

Breakfast is followed by the Morning Safari in a 4×4 open Suzuki jeep accompanied by a resident naturalist. While some of the prominent residents include the Asiatic Elephants, Water Buffaloes & the flagship One-horned Rhinos, one might be able to spot the illusive predators like a tiger or a leopard!
Lunch is served at the Resort followed by the afternoon safari.

The guests can visit the Silk & Handicraft outlet nearby in the evening to explore traditional products & the famous muga silk.

Day 3: Bramhaputra River Cruise and more Safaris

Head out towards Silghat (about an hours drive from the Resort) for a Boat Cruise (Depending on the weather condition) on the mighty brahmaputra in search of the Gangetic River Dolphin and numerous bird species.
One can experience the nearby village life or tea gardens after the safari
A lunch at the Resort is followed by another afternoon 4×4 open jeep Safari at the National Park

Day 4: Transfer to Guwahati for onward flight to Kolkata

Your final day at the Diphlu River Lodge starts with breakfast and a morning Safari. Keep an eye out for Great Hornbills or Grey-headed Fish Eagles. The park is also home to a variety of deers such as Eastern Swamp Deer, Barking Deer, Sambar, Hog Deer.
Proceed to the Guwahati Airport after the safari in an AC vehicle to avail the evening flight to Kolkata to get ready for the adventure of a lifetime in search of the man-eating swamp tigers of Sunderbans.

Day 5: Transfer to Sunderban and Sunset Cruise

Begin your journey with a seamless transfer from Kolkata airport, railway station, or city hotel in a premium private vehicle. Enjoy a scenic three-hour drive through the rustic beauty of Bengal, en route to Godkhali Jetty—the last motorable point before entering the enchanting Sundarbans.
Upon arrival at Godkhali, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. Embark on a private boat for ride though a meandering creek to reach the resort jetty (60 minutes).
Arrive at Hotel Sonar Bangla, Dulki, an exclusive riverside retreat nestled on the edge of the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve. Check into your elegantly appointed room and enjoy a refreshing welcome drink as you take in the tranquil surroundings.
Savor a sumptuous lunch featuring fresh, locally sourced delicacies at our multi-cuisine restaurant. Spend the afternoon unwinding at the resort, surrounded by the serene beauty of the mangroves.
Embark on a luxurious sunset cruise to the Jatirampur Bird Sanctuary. Witness the captivating sight of birds returning to their roosts and revel in the golden hues of the sunset over the river.
Enhance your evening with an optional performance of traditional tribal dance, presented by local artists under the starlit sky (available on request, additional cost applies).
Relish a gourmet dinner at our fine dining restaurant. Overnight at the resort.

Day 6: Mangrove Cruise in search of Swamp Tigers

Awaken to the sounds of nature and breathe in the fresh morning air.
Begin your day with a lavish buffet breakfast at our signature restaurant, Breathing Roots.
Board your private boat for an unforgettable wildlife adventure. Cruise through the creeks and canals to the Sajnekhali Tiger Reserve Complex, where you can explore the forest from strategic watchtowers. Continue your journey to Pirkhali, navigating narrow waterways teeming with life. Visit the Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower for a panoramic view of the dense mangroves and look out for exotic wildlife, including the Royal Bengal Tiger, spotted deer, and saltwater crocodiles. Proceed to Dobanke Watch Tower, where a unique canopy walk allows you to observe animals within a forest enclosure. Explore the surrounding forest and witness rehabilitation efforts for spotted deer. Sail towards the Matla Sea Face, where the vast Bay of Bengal meets the Sundarbans, offering an awe-inspiring view of the five-river confluence. Enjoy a packed gourmet lunch onboard as you continue your luxurious cruise through this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 7: Transfer to Kolkata after Mangrove Cruise, sunset over the Holy Ganges

Begin your day with a refreshing walk through the nearby village, offering an intimate glimpse into the resilient lifestyle and unique culture of the local community.
Indulge in a lavish breakfast buffet at Breathing Roots.
After a relaxing morning, check out and transfer by e-rickshaw to Gosaba Jetty. From there, your private boat will transport you to Godkhali Jetty, allowing you one last chance to savor the stunning river views.
Return to Kolkata in your private premium vehicle, arriving at your hotel (approximately 3 hours).

After some rest, let’s go out for the Sunset tour. Take in the glory of the setting sun on our river Hooghly, while sailing upriver to Belur Math, the international headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission and Dakshineswar, a unique Kali temple. Includes the company of an Explorer with snacks and tea on board.
The guests are free to take their dinner at the Bungalow or explore eateries nearby.

Day 8: Guided Walk, Food, Culture and Shopping

Post breakfast, embark on a full-day colourful journey to explore the City of Joy. It is a guided exclusive tour of the city to experience its cultural hotspots, gastronomical outlets, busy markets & architectural heritage.
Evening leisure or marketing (not included as part of the package) and overnight at the Calcutta Bungalow

Day 9: Drop off to Kolkata Airport

Morning Breakfast at the Townhouse. The guests can explore the local streets & markets (unguided).
