Luxury Family Safari Holidays in Tanzania
Tanzania is an East African country, considered to be the best Luxury Family Safari Holiday Destination.
From the ever-popular engaging game drives in the central Serengeti to wild game concessions in its lesser-known remote regions like northern Serengeti with authentic safari-style mobile camps or Ruaha with a south African safari vibes, we’ll help you choose the perfect luxury safari experience based on your tastes, preferences, age, and ability. Lots of options exist, and we can assist you in creating a personalized schedule that meets all your family members’ needs.
Given the country’s isolated locations, minimum age limitations at certain accommodations, and the amount of travel required to reach many of its destinations, we believe that Tanzania is better suited to older families than young ones. However, when you consult with us, we can provide expert advice and design your trip accordingly that are perfect for your family.
We offer both fly-in and overland tours in Tanzania, and a mix of both is also advised in certain Tanzanian circuits.
Why Safari in Tanzania
Embarking on a safari in Tanzania is an unparalleled adventure that promises to immerse you in the heart of Africa’s breathtaking natural beauty and vibrant wildlife. Home to the iconic Serengeti National Park, Tanzania offers the chance to witness the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traverse the plains in a dramatic display of nature’s cycles. The herd only cross to Kenya’s Masai Mara briefly and then back again. So if you wish to observe the nature’s extravaganza, you just need to visit the right corner of Tanzania at the right month.
Beyond the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater provides a unique ecosystem teeming with diverse species, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinoceroses. Tanzania’s commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism ensures that your journey not only enriches your soul but also contributes to preserving these magnificent landscapes for future generations. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a first-time adventurer, a safari in Tanzania offers an unforgettable experience that combines awe-inspiring scenery, cultural richness, and the thrill of witnessing wildlife in its natural habitat.
You can add national parks of Kenya with ease with our partner Safari Airlines transferring guests on daily basis in a matter of hours. Road transfers are also possible between these two countries, just talk to us.
When to Travel to Tanzania
The best time to embark on a safari adventure in Tanzania largely depends on what you wish to experience, but generally, the dry season from late June to October is considered ideal. During this period, the weather is more predictable, and wildlife is easier to spot as animals congregate around waterholes and rivers. This season also coincides with the Great Migration in the Serengeti, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras journey in a spectacular display. However, if you’re interested in witnessing the calving season, visiting from January to March is recommended, as the southern Serengeti becomes a nursery for newborns, providing a different but equally fascinating wildlife experience. Regardless of the timing, a Tanzanian safari promises breathtaking landscapes and remarkable encounters with nature’s wonders.

A Guide to Going on Safari in Tanzania
- Open sided Safari vehicles are better not only for unobstructed views, but also for more intimate connection with the nature and wildlife. In our Tanzanian tours, we use several kind of safari vehicles. For fly-in safaris, we prefer to use open-sided vehicles only. For overland tours, we cannot use the open-sided during long transfers between camps. So we can either use a separate closed vehicle with pop-up roofs for transfer purpose, or use our special photography vehicles which has wide flap-style windows and can open up completely.
- Before taking pictures of locals, get their permission. Your driver or guide will help you with this and may even be able to help you settle on a modelling fee.
- Hot air balloon during your Tanzanian Safari can be arranged with an additional charge including pick-up, drop off from your camp. It is highly recommended.
- Small Safari Airlines fly-in service is available to most of the destinations in your Tanzania Safari, it reduces the transportation time a lot. It is also recommended to fly if you want to visit some of the remotest locations.
- On safari, it is suggested to include dust-proof bags for your cameras and a blower to clean the front lens element frequently. lens hood is useful, so is a protecting cloth to cover the camera from direct Sun, when not in use.
- Negotiating and shopping are practically inevitable in any trip to Tanzania. Please refrain from purchasing anything related to wildlife as it may be prohibited.

In Tanzania, we cover North, South, West Serengeti and can plan your trip depending on your choice. It can be either to follow the migration in any time of the year, or it can be suggesting a non-tourist part in the time of travel. We try to avoid the central Serengeti, Seronera area as much as possible due to all-year round crowd.
After Serengeti, our most popular sector is Ruaha in the south of Tanzania.
Most of our guests prefer to end the trip in the relaxing Lake Manyara National Park, where our partner has a secluded property under a nice water-fall frequented by wild elephants.
