Saruni Mara Lodge

A Boutique luxury Lodge in the secluded Mara North Conservancy

Saruni Mara Lodge, Masai Mara’s most fashionable safari lodge, offers the ideal blend of opulence and traditional safari charm. Tucked down in a remote valley in the Koiyaki Group Ranch of the Mara North Conservancy lies this boutique luxury resort. The Masai guides and trackers of the lodge lead guided nature walks and day and night game drives from this ideal starting point.

People who come to Saruni Mara can go on exhilarating game drives, bush walks, trips to cultural villages, and bird watching. They can also take part in the unique Warriors Academy. Visitors can spend time with real Maasai and Samburu warriors and learn many useful traditional skills, such as wildlife tracking, beading, making Maasai crafts, and more.

Saruni Mara

Location of Saruni Mara Lodge

Nestled within the remote highlands of the 69000-acre Mara North Conservancy, Saruni Mara faces woodlands to the north and wide-open grasslands to the south. Stay in this exclusive and protected conservancy to fully experience the world-famous Mara-Serengeti habitat in uninterrupted exclusivity.

Rooms in Saruni Mara Lodge

Situated against a forested slope, Saruni Mara Safari Lodge comprises five quaint thatched cottages, one private villa, and a family villa with total guest capacity of 18. Each of these is positioned to provide visitors the ideal view of the most spectacular sunsets. Just north of the Masai Mara National Reserve, in the Mara North Conservancy, there are very few safari lodges. The smallest permanent lodge in the Masai Mara ecosystem, it was built to fit in with its surrounds.

Beautifully polished hardwood floors, antiques from colonial times, African artwork, and Persian carpets adorn each home. Large Italian-style bathrooms with hot and cold running water, a canvas front that can be opened to let you shower with a stunning view are just a few of the creature amenities to enjoy even in the middle of the wilderness.

Wildlife seen at Saruni Mara Lodge

Animals abound in Mara North Conservancy. With the largest concentration of predators and plains game of any wilderness in the world, the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, of which Mara North is a part, is also the path of the exhilarating and breathtaking Great Wildebeest Migration. Action-packed, with amazing moments and wildlife encounters, are Saruni Mara game drives.

Food and Dining in Saruni Mara Lodge

Saruni Mara is going to provide foodies a really unique experience. The cooks at the resort provide the tastiest meals using farm fresh organic produce. Among the delicious meals served by the lodge are exquisite Italian dishes made from the family recipes of the Italian owner. Savoury meals are served at long, wooden communal tables. But you may alternatively choose a bush breakfast on the banks of the Mara River or far into an acacia woodland. End the day with a lighted, extremely intimate dinner on your own cottage deck or an al fresco bush dinner under the stars. There are some cozy chairs and refreshments by the fire if you feel like telling some safari tales to other visitors.
